Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Thunder are 8-point favorites to beat the Timberwolves. The total, meanwhile, sits at 227 points and as of this writing, 53% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Timberwolves to cover the point spread.
Minnesota Timberwolves Fantasy Spin
Robert Covington (ankle) won’t play on Tuesday against the Thunder, as expected. We’re still awaiting an official timetable for RoCo, but it’s safe to say he won’t be back any time soon. Josh Okogie has been starting in his absence while Anthony Tolliver has seen an uptick in minutes with the second unit, but those two aren’t much more than low-end options in deep leagues.
Oklahoma City Thunder Fantasy Spin
Russell Westbrook hit 9-of-23 shots, two 3-pointers and 2-of-6 free throws for 22 points, 15 rebounds, 13 assists, a steal and eight turnovers in Sunday’s ugly 116-98 loss to the Wizards. Westbrook has triple-doubled in three of his last four games, but his shot isn’t falling much these days, nor are his free throws. He’s shooting just 36 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the line over his last five games. He picked up his 12th trip-dub of the year with almost four minutes left in the third quarter. Paul George added 20 points and Steven Adams had 12 points, eight boards and two steals in the loss.
NBA Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Timberwolves have covered the spread in five straight meetings with the Thunder.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 4-1 against the spread in their last five conference games.
Prediction
The over has been profitable for bettors in this series, cashing in four out of the last five meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in the last four meetings in Oklahoma City. The over is also a perfect 6-0 in the Timberwolves’ last six road games, is 10-1 in their last 11 games overall and is 4-1 in their last five conference matchups. On the other side, the over is 5-2 in the Thunder’s last seven home games.
