Jazz vs. Heat Pick
Can the Utah Jazz pick up a win on the road this afternoon at the Miami Heat? Tip-off is slated for 3:30PM ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Heat are listed as a 4.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 197 points. Miami opened at the same -4.5 spread, while the total has dropped after originally opening at 199 points.
Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday morning, 55 percent of public bets have come in on the visiting Jazz.
Injury Report: Jazz point guard Raul Neto is out indefinitely with a concussion. Center Rudy Gobert has a sprained PCL and will be out a couple more weeks. Dante Exum is out indefinitely as he heals his shoulder which has kept him out all season. For the Heat, Dion Waiters has been out with an ankle injury and is questionable today. Justise Winslow is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Okaro White is out indefinitely with a foot injury. Rodney McGruder is recovering from surgery to fix a stress fracture in his leg and will need a couple more months to heal.
Who the Trends Like: Utah is 0-5 ATS in its last five road games. Miami is 5-1 ATS in its last six games following a straight up loss. The over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Miami.
Who We Like: Utah has lost five of its last six gaves, but all five defeats have come against teams that would make the Western Conference playoffs if the season ended today. With a 16-23 overall record and 19-23 ATS, the argument can be made that the Jazz have actually overachieved this season. I like Utah in this contest, a pace down game that doesn’t fit its style as much with Gobert out of the lineup but still won’t throw it off one bit. Donovan Mitchell has turned in a fantastic rookie season for the Jazz and expect another big game out of him to help the visitors get the job done here.
NBA DAILY PREDICTION: UTAH JAZZ +4.5
