Dubs prepare for rugged bout vs. Memphis
Memphis possesses an uncanny ability to push high-powered Golden State to the limit. So should we anticipate another nail-biter in Oakland tonight?
Steve Kerr’s bunch hopes to avenge one of its most lopsided losses of the season shortly. Online sports book Bovada.lv gives the Warriors odds of -1450 to accomplish precisely that. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, enter Oracle Arena as +825 underdogs.
On Dec. 10, Memphis registered a 110-89 triumph over the reigning Western Conference champs. Since then, however, virtually all comers have felt the Dubs’ (31-5) wrath. Stephen Curry and his friends own 11 wins in their past 12 contests, putting them on pace for 70 victories.
While not performing at quite the same level, the Grizzlies (22-16) are also fashioning a quality playoff résumé. Center Marc Gasol continues to spearhead the charge with brilliant work away from Beale Street. The former All-Star averages 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists on the road, shooting 49.2 percent from the floor in the process.
Still, Gasol’s strong interior presence won’t prevent the inevitable trouncing here. Golden State’s simply moving the ball too well, as evidenced by Saturday’s 31-assist barrage against Portland. Bank on the class of the Pacific Division to flirt with the 130s.
