Public Betting Trends
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Pacers are favored on the road in this game, as they are getting odds of -5 points against the Hornets. The over/under total for the game is listed at 208.5 points. The public betting currently has 72 percent going on Indiana as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Pacers can’t get healthy
Already without their team leader, Victor Oladipo, for the season to this point, the Pacers have not been able to stay healthy as of late and have dropped four of their last five games. Indiana is 22-14 on the season, 7-10 on the road, 19-16-1 against the spread and 18-17-1 with the under.
Indiana is led this season by its defense. The Pacers are giving up just 106.2 points per game while holding opponents to 44.2 percent from the floor. Offensively, Indiana is putting up 109.3 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent as a team. Oladipo could join the team later this month, but Malcolm Brogdon remains out with a back injury and TJ McConnell is questionable to play tonight with an ankle injury. Brogdon has been putting up 17.7 points and 7.4 assists per game. Domantas Sabonis is leading Indiana with 17.8 points, 13.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. T.J. Warren is adding 17.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
Hornets win back-to-back on the road
Charlotte has had a surprising two-game win streak on the road in recent days, beating the Cavs and Mavericks as underdogs. The Hornets are now 14-24 on the season, 7-11 at home, 19-19 against the spread and 20-18 with the over.
The Hornets are not too impressive on offense this season, averaging just 104.4 points per game while shooting only 43.6 percent as a team. Defensively, the Hornets are giving up 110.9 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 47.7 percent against them. Devonte’ Graham is leading Charlotte this season with 19.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game. Terry Rozier is adding 17.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Indiana
The Pacers are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games as a road favorite and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games overall.
Charlotte
The Hornets are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine Monday games.
Prediction:
These two have met twice this season and the home team won both contests. Charlotte grabbed an OT win at home as a small underdog back on Nov. 5. The Pacers haven’t looked great as of late, with their defense being what has led them down. They have given up at least 113 points in six of their last seven games. Going on the road short-handed, I could see the defense being a problem again. Charlotte is coming off a nice road win over the Mavericks and could be starting to build a little momentum. I like them at home with some points against a struggling Indy squad.
