Pistons drop third straight
Detroit is in a major funk right now. They have lost three straight and eight of their last nine games. They also have failed to cover in all eight losses. The Pistons are 13-22 on the season, 4-13 on the road, 12-22-1 against the spread and 20-15 with the over.
The Pistons are not too impressive on either side of the floor. They are giving up 111.4 points per game on defense while opponents shoot 47.6 percent against them. Offensively, Detroit is putting up 108.4 points per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the field. The Pistons are without Luke Kennard, Reggie Jackson, Blake Griffin and Markieff Morris tonight. Andre Drummond has been leading the team with 17.6 points and 15.8 rebounds per game. He is currently the subject to trade rumors with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Warriors on a skid again
Golden State has lost three straight coming into tonight, but they have won four of their last five games at home. The Warriors are 9-27 on the year, 6-11 at home, 17-19 against the spread and 20-16 with the under.
The Warriors are scoring just 105.3 points per game this season on offense, while shooting 43.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Golden State is giving up 113 points per game while opponents shoot 46.9 percent against them. It’s been a tough year for injuries for Golden State. Already without the splash brothers, D’Angelo Russell and Kevon Looney are also out while Willie Cauley-Stein is questionable to play due to illness. Russell has been the team leader this year with 23.2 points and 6.0 assists per game. Alec Burks is adding 15.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Detroit
The Pistons are just 5-16-1 against the spread in their last 22 road games, but 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games as a road favorite.
Golden State
The Warriors are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as a home underdog.
Prediction:
The Pistons aren’t a team I feel very good about as a road favorite. They have lost their last four road games by at least 14 points. Golden State doesn’t have much in regards to weapons, but the Pistons also seem to be settling into tank mode. Griffin may not be able to get back on the floor this year and the team is looking to trade Drummond. There won’t be much to play for once the wheels get in motion. Golden State doesn’t have much to play for either, but their active roster has young players looking to prove themselves for future teams.
