MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) – Robbie Loomis says Richard Petty Motorsports is looking forward to finishing this season strong and is already making plans for the 2011 season.
The director of competition for RPM answered questions at Martinsville Speedway amid speculation that the organization is in financial turmoil and facing an uncertain future.
The team and driver Kasey Kahne parted ways this week, and Loomis says he thinks the departure of Kahne fueled much of the speculation about the team’s future.
Aric Almirola is taking Kahne’s place in the No. 9 Ford this weekend.
Loomis says the team will be at Talladega next weekend, but he did not say who will be driving the car.
