WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) – Ricky Taylor raced to his sixth consecutive Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series pole and eighth overall Friday in qualifying for the Canadian Tire 200.
Taylor, teaming with Max Angelelli in Wayne Taylor Racing’s No. 10 SunTrust Chevrolet Dallara, topped the field for the two-hour race Saturday at Watkins Glen International with a lap of 1 minute, 5.962 seconds (133.713 mph) on the 2.45-mile, 11-turn NASCAR road course.
Memo Rojas grabbed the outside-front-row starting spot in the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates BMW Riley. He will team with Scott Pruett.
