WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Tony Stewart failed to finish the 40-lap late model A-Main feature Thursday night at Red River Valley Speedway, a three-eighths-mile dirt track.
The two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion's car was taken into the wall two laps into the A-Main, and Jake Redetzke of Eau Claire, Wis., went on to win the race.
``What's hard for people to understand is everybody thinks we're the favorites when we come to a place like this and we're not,'' Stewart said. ``We're actually the underdogs because the guys that we're racing with race here every week.''
Stewart was fourth in his heat race, then failed to finish the B-Main. Stewart made the A-Main with a promoter's provisional spot and started in the last row of a 26-car field.
Last summer, Stewart also failed to win a feature in two dates at the Red River Valley Speedway, competing once in a late model and once in a sprint car.
