FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Matt Kenseth has led more laps than anybody in Texas, current points leader Greg Biffle has seven consecutive top-10 finishes, and Carl Edwards is the only three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup winner there.
The 1 1/2-mile, high-banked track certainly suits Jack Roush’s drivers.
All three finished in the top five of both races last year. Kenseth won last April.
Roush was winning races in the Lone Star State even before his current trio of drivers. He has won eight of the 22 races, including the first two in 1997 and 1998.
Owners Joe Gibbs and Rick Hendrick both have three victories in Texas, the closest to Roush.
Hendrick Motorsports goes into Saturday night’s race still looking for its first win this season. The next win which will be the owner’s 200th.
