HOMESTEAD, FL (TheSpread) – Carl Edwards helped his chances of winning the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship as he won the pole for the Ford 400 on Saturday afternoon.

According to oddsmakers, Edwards is now the favorite to win the race with 7/2 odds while Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth each have 7/1 odds.

His average finish at the track is 18.8 and his driver rating there is 105.7, which ranks third amongst current drivers. Kenseth with start sixth on Sunday.
