Quicken Loans Race for Heroes Picks
AVONDALE, AZ (ATS CONSULTANTS) – The Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 has a lot at stake for many NASCAR drivers. Which ones will step up today and contend for the win?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kevin Harvick is the slight favorite to win, as he has 3/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Brad Keselowski (9/2), Jeff Gordon (8/1) and Joey Logano (8/1).
Here are some drivers we like today:
Harvick could use a win today and move himself into the final race next weekend. He is currently last of the eight drivers in the standings, so getting into next week’s race without a win could be very difficult. Harvick is a five-time winner at this track and has a driver rating of 103.9, which is second only to Jimmie Johnson. He qualified third for the race and should be right in the mix at the end.
Keselowski is in a similar spot to Harvick, as he sits seventh in the standings right now. Keselowski has a target on his back this week after his dust-ups with Harvick and Jeff Gordon last week, but he seems to excel when the pressure is on. He has six wins this year and is looking to get his first win at Phoenix. He will start second today and it is sure hard to pick against him with it all on the line.
McMurray is not in the chase, but he has been contending for wins as of late and would like to finish the job today. He has finished in the top 5 in two of his last four and in the top 10 in five of his last nine. He finished 10th in the spring race at Phoenix and will start from 19th position today. Look for McMurray to be a dark horse to win today.
