Almriola wins rained-out pole


TALLADEGA, AL (TheSpread) – Qualifying for the Camping World RV Sales 500 was rained out on Saturday, which puts Aric Almirola on the pole.

According to oddsmakers at, six drivers are still favored to win, as each has 10/1 odds to win. The six drivers are Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick.

Gordon is fourth in the standings, 36 points out of first. Gordon has no wins with seven top 5s on the season. Gordon has six wins at Talladega with an average finish of 16.3. His driver rating at the track is 81.8, which ranks 11th. Gordon will begin from the 19th position.

Busch is fifth in the standings, 37 points out of first. Busch has four wins with 15 top 5s this year. Busch owns one win at Talladega with an average finish of 22.9. His driver rating there is 79.9, which ranks 16th. Busch will start 27th on Sunday.

Earnhardt Jr. is ninth in the standings, 66 points out of first. He has no wins with six top 5s this season. Dale Jr. has five wins at Talladega with an average finish of 15.1. His driver rating at the track is 89.9, which ranks second in the series. Dale Jr. will start eighth on Sunday.
