Price Chopper 400 Odds

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hits Kansas Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 4 for the 2009 Price Chopper 400.

The Price Chopper 400 defending champion, Jimmie Johnson, is the pre-race favorite to win the event.

Johnson is a 4/1 favorite to win the race according to oddsmakers at the online sports book Other short odds to win are Mark Martin (6/1), Jeff Gordon (8/1), and Tony Stewart (10/1).

Johnson won this event last year and sits second in the Sprint Cup standings, 10 points behind Martin. Johnson is coming off a win last week in the AAA 400 and has finished in the top 10 in three of the last five races with back-to-back top 5 finishes.

Martin leads the Sprint Cup standings and has five wins on the year. Martin won this event in 2005 and has finished in the top five in his last five races.

Gordon is a two-time winner of this event, finishing first in 2001 and 2002. Gordon is eighth in the standings and has finished in the top 10 in three of the last four events.

Stewart won this event in 2006 and sits fifth in the points standings. Stewart has struggled as of late finishing outside the top five in his last six events. Stewart finished ninth last Sunday, which was his first top 10 since Aug. 10.
