LONG POND, PA (TheSpread) – Jeff Gordon got a much-needed win with a little bit of luck on Sunday, as he won the rain-shortened Pennsylvania 400.

View Current NASCAR Odds

The race went just 98 of the scheduled 160 laps after a delayed start and then short finish due to rain and thunderstorms. The win for Gordon was his first of the year, and moves him into 13th place in the point standings. However, due to the current set up, he is in the second of two wild card spots because of today’s victory.

According to oddsmakers, Gordon had 12/1 odds to win this event, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $1,200.

Gordon came in first while Kasey Kahne took second. Kahne moved up to 11th in the point standings with his finish.

Matt Kenseth managed to climb a little closer to the points lead of Dale Earnhardt Jr. despite Kenseth taking 17th on the day. Dale Jr. had his first DNF of the year, as he finished 32nd due to car trouble. Earnhardt now leads Kenseth by 5 points in the standings.
