With this being just one of two races on a road course, the odds are quite different than most weeks.

Tony Stewart and road course specialist Marcos Ambrose are considered the favorites to win the event and each has been given 7/2 odds to win according to oddsmakers at the online sports book SBGGLOBAL. Other short odds to win are Juan Pablo Montoya (8/1), Jeff Gordon (8/1), Kyle Busch (8/1), and Jimmie Johnson (8/1).

Stewart has won this event five times and has seven road course wins in his career. His average finish at Watkins Glen is 5.3 and his driver rating is a series-best 135.0. Stewart is currently eighth in the point standings, 361 points behind leader Kevin Harvick. Stewart is winless in 2010.

Ambrose is considered a specialist for the road course races. He has yet to win this event or a road course race but his average finish on this track is 2.5 and his driver rating is 106.9, which ranks second in the series. Ambrose is 28th in the standings right now and he has just two top 10’s in 21 races.

Montoya has never won this event but does hold a road course victory. At Watkins Glen, Montoya has an average finish of 16.3 and a driver rating of 101.4. Montoya is 21st in the standings right now with four top 5’s.

Gordon has nine career wins on road courses, including four at Watkins Glen. Gordon has an average finish of 14.8 on this track and a driver rating of 88.9. Gordon is currently second in the standings, 189 points behind Harvick. Gordon is winless in 2010 but has 10 top 5’s.

Busch has one win on this track and two road course victories in his career. At Watkins Glen, he has an average finish of 10.8 and a driver rating of 104.9. Busch is sixth in the standings right now, 356 points outside of first. Busch has two wins and five top 5’s in 2010.

Johnson has never won on this track but he does hold a road course victory in his career. JJ has an average finish of 13.0 and a driver rating of 106.5 at Watkins Glen. Johnson is fourth in the standings, 277 points outside of first. Johnson has five wins on the year.
