Kenseth wins Daytona pole

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – Matt Kenseth was the favorite to win the Coke Zero 400 entering the week and he strengthened those odds on Friday, winning the pole for Saturday’s race.

According to oddsmakers, Kenseth has 10/1 odds to win this race while nine other drivers have been given 12/1 odds to win this race.

Kenseth is the points leader in the Sprint Cup standings. He is ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr. by 11 points. Kenseth has one win and eight top 5’s on the year. At Daytona, Kenseth has two wins and five top 5’s in his career. His average finish there is 16.7, while his driver rating is 89.8, which ranks fourth in the series.

Kyle Busch is one of the driver’s with 12/1 odds to win and he comes into the race with the top driver rating at Daytona of 97.5. Busch has just one win at Daytona, but has five top 5’s. Busch is currently 12th in the point standings. He has one win this year. Busch will start 23rd in Saturday’s race.

Tony Stewart also has 12/1 odds and he has the second-best driver rating at Daytona. It is 97.1. Stewart has three wins and seven top 5’s in his career at this track. Stewart is currently ninth in the point standings. He has two wins this year. Stewart qualified second for this race.
