SPARTA, KY (TheSpread) – The 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will drive under the Saturday night lights once again this week as drivers compete in the 2011 Quaker State 400.

This is the first ever Sprint Cup event at Kentucky Speedway, which prevents oddsmakers to rely on history to determine their favorites.

According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog, both Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards are the favorites to win this race. Each driver has 7/1 odds to win the race. Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson each have 8/1 odds to win the race.

Kurt Busch is currently fourth in the point standings. He has one win and four top 5’s on the year. Busch has finished in the top 11 in five of his last six races, including one victory in that stretch.

Edwards is second in the point standings, five points out of first. He has one win and nine top 5’s on the year. He has finished 37th in two of his last four races. Edwards does own the Nationwide Series track record at this track. He won the Nationwide race at this track in 2005.

Kyle Busch third in the point standings. He has two wins and nine top 5’s on the year. Busch has placed in the top 5 in three of his last four races. Busch won the Nationwide race at this track in 2004.

Johnson is tied for fifth in the point standings and has one win and five top 5’s. Johnson has finished outside the top 20 in two of his last three races and three of his last six. He hasn’t finished in the top 3 in his last 10 races.
