LONG POND, PA (TheSpread) – Kurt Busch found himself another pole victory on Saturday, as he qualified first for Sunday’s 5-Hour Energy 500.

According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog, Denny Hamlin is now the favorite to win the race with 7/2 odds while other short odds include Carl Edwards (6/1), Jimmie Johnson (8/1), and Busch (8/1).

Hamlin will start fourth on Sunday. He has struggled somewhat this year, as he has just two top 5’s, but he has been slowly climbing up the standings and now sits 11th, 104 behind Edwards. Hamlin has dominated Pocono, winning four times with an average finish of 8.2 at the track and a driver rating of 119.2, which is tops of any driver.

Edwards qualified sixth for Sunday’s race. Edwards had one win and seven top 5’s on the year as he leads the point standings by 40 over Johnson. Edwards has two wins at this track with an average finish of 12.4 and a driver rating of 98.6.

Johnson will start from the 14th position. Johnson has one win and four top 5’s on the season. Johnson has two Pocono wins to his credit with an average finish of 9.6 and a driver rating of 105.9.

Kurt Busch is sixth in the standings. He has two poles on the year and also has two top 5’s and seven top 10’s. At Pocono, Busch has two wins and an average finish of 16.8 while his driver rating is 101.8.

The 5-Hour Energy 500 will take place Sunday, June 12 from Pocono Raceway at 1:18PM ET. For complete odds and track information on this year’s event, see below.
