Johnson gets Pocono pole

LONG POND, PA (TheSpread) – Qualifying for the Party in the Poconos 400 was rained out, which put Jimmie Johnson on the pole for Sunday’s race. Here is an updated look at the odds to win this event.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Johnson is now the favorite to win, as he has 4/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Matt Kenseth (5/1) and Denny Hamlin (6/1).

Johnson is the current points leaders, 30 points ahead of the field. Johnson has two wins and six top 5s on the year. Johnson has two wins at Pocono with an average finish of 9.0 at the track. His driver rating there is 107.6, which ranks second in the series.

Kenseth is fourth in the point standings, 74 points outside of first place. Kenseth has three wins on the year. At Pocono, Kenseth is winless but has three top 5s. His average finish at the track is 14.3, while his driver rating is 90.7, which ranks 10th in the series. Kenseth will start fourth on Sunday.

Hamlin is 26th in the point standings, 224 points outside of first. Hamlin missed four races on the year, but still has three top 5s. Hamlin has four wins and eight top 5s at Pocono. His average finish at the track is 10.7, while his driver rating is 115.1, which is tops for any current driver. Hamlin will start 17th on Sunday.
