The STP 400 was added to the 2011 NASCAR schedule and will be the first of two races held at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas this year. Kansas received a second date as part of NASCAR’s latest round of schedule realignment and this year’s STP 400 will be the inaugural race.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have made Edwards the money line favorite at +450. It’s not hard to see why Edwards would be the favorite in this race, as he leads all drivers in points after the Coca-Cola 600. His 445 points lead NASCAR, as Kevin Harvick (who is +1000 to win the STP 400) currently sits –36 in the official standings.

Edwards comes into this race with one win in 12 starts. He has also won two poles, has finished in the top-5 six times and the top-10 nine times. Meanwhile, Harvick has three wins in 12 starts this season, as well as five top-5 finishes and seven top-10s.

The driver with the next best odds is Jimmie Johnson, who is +700 to win this weekend. He currently sits behind Edwards and Harvick in the standings with 408 points and in 12 starts this season, he has one win, four top 5finishes and seven top-10s.

Also receiving attention this week from oddsmakers is Kyle Busch, who is +800 on the money line. Busch is currently 53 points behind Edwards in the standings and in 12 starts this season, has two wins, six top-5 finishes and seven top-10s. His brother Kurt is right behind him with 377 points, although he’s still searching for his first victory of the year. Kurt is +3000 on the ML to win the STP 400.
