Busch to lead the All-Star race

CONCORD, NC (TheSpread) – Kyle Busch will start up front for the 2011 Sprint All-Star race as he finished up front in qualifying on Friday night.

According to oddsmakers at online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com Busch is now the favorite to win the exhibition race, as he has 9/2 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Carl Edwards (5/1) and Jimmie Johnson (8/1).

These three are the top three drivers in the current standings. Edwards has the lead while Johnson is 24 points back and Busch is 37 points back. All have won at least one race this season, while Busch has two victories.

Kyle Busch has an average running position of 7.7 in the All-Star while his driver rating is 104.6, which is the second-best of any driver in the series.

Edwards has not done well in the All-Star as he is not statistically amongst the best drivers in this race. Edwards hasn’t finished in the top 10 in is last three races at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Edwards will start fourth on Saturday night.

Johnson is the only one of the three to win this event, as he won in 2003 and 2006. His average running position at the race is 5.5 while his driver rating in this race is 112.8, best of any driver. Johnson will start 11th on Saturday night.
