2011 nascar sprint cup picks and predictions matt kenseth carl edwards

FORT WORTH, TX (The Spread) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers will compete under the lights on Saturday night for the Samsung Mobile 500. Here are some plays to consider for this race.

View Current NASCAR Odds

This race should be exciting from start to finish as there isn’t a driver that has been able to really dominate this track more than anyone else. Even some of the bigger names like Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, and Kyle Busch have rather tame results in their careers at this track.

I think last night’s Nationwide Series race can paint a little picture into Saturday’s results as one two drivers were clearly the best on the track for a good portion of the race, and that was Busch and Carl Edwards. Both have been steady all season, but one driver I like more than the other.

Carl Edwards 6/1

Edwards has three wins at Texas in his career, but he also has three DNF’s, which have affected his driver rating and average finish. Edwards seems to be all or nothing at this track, but he also seems to have a calmer demeanor this season. I look for him to drive a smart race and contend for the weekend sweep.

Live Longshot

Matt Kenseth 16/1
Kenseth has had the best history at Texas Motor Speedway as his driver rating is 101.9 and his average finish is 9.5. The driver rating ranks second in the series while the average finish is first. He has one win with 8 top 5’s and not a single DNF. Kenseth knows how to contend here and I look for him to do it again on Saturday night.
