FORT WORTH, TX (TheSpread) – David Ragan won his first career pole on Friday and he will now start up from for Saturday night’s Samsung Mobile 500.

Now that he is starting up front, Ragan now has 30/1 odds to win Saturday’s race, but it is Carl Edwards that finds himself as the favorite according to oddsmakers at online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com. Edwards now has 7/2 odds to win while other short odds are Jimmie Johnson (6/1), Matt Kenseth (8/1), and Kyle Busch (8/1).

Edwards won this event in 2008 and he has three wins at this track in his career. His average finish is 17.7 at Texas while his driver rating is 96.9, which ranks seventh in the series. Johnson is currently third in the standings. He trails Busch by 12 points. Johnson is winless this year but has three top 5’s. Johnson will start from the sixth position.

Kenseth will start from the fourth position on Saturday. Kenseth is currently ninth in the standings. He has two top 5’s on the year. Kenseth holds one win in his career at this track with a driver rating of 101.9, which is second best in the series. His average finish at Texas is 9.5.

Busch qualified 11th for Saturday’s race. Busch leads the point standings due to one win and four top 5’s in six races this year. Busch has never won at Texas, but he holds four top 5’s. His driver rating is 97.6 at the track and his average finish is 16.2.
