View Current NASCAR Odds

According to oddsmakers at online sports book Johnson is the favorite to finish better in this race with odds of -170 while Gordon has odds of +135.

Interestingly enough, the two qualified next to one another as Gordon will start 13th in Sunday’s race, while Johnson is one spot behind, starting in 14th.

Johnson has won four times at Las Vegas and his average finish is 10.0. His driver rating at the track is 116.4, which is second best of any driver in the series. His average running position has been 9.6. Johnson finished third last week and was 27th in the Daytona 500.

Gordon has one win with six top 5’s and seven top 10’s in his career at Las Vegas. He has an average finish of 13.3 and his driver rating at the track is 117.0, which is the best of any driver. His average running position is 6.4, which is also tops of any driver. Gordon is coming off his first win in 66 races last week.

Gordon has been driving well so far this season, but I expect Johnson to have a good showing. He is far back in the standings, too far in fact. So, look for Johnson to break out while Gordon may be more toward the back following a victory.
