2012 NASCAR Win Total Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gets kicked off this Sunday. Here is a look at some win total odds for selected NASCAR drivers.
Oddsmakers have listed 11 different drivers in the series with over/under win totals this year. Of the drivers, oddsmakers have Jimmie Johnson set with the highest win total, listing him with an over/under of 5.5. wins. Johnson owns 55 wins in his career, but last year had just two, which was his lowest win total since 2001, when he competed in just three races. Prior to last season, Johnson won at least six races in the previous four seasons.
There are four drivers that have odds of 3.5 wins for the season, and that includes Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards, who battled for the season championship last year. Stewart won five races last year, but all of those came in the final 10 races. He has had at least four wins jut two times over the last five seasons. Edwards has not been much of a win machine, as he has just three total over the last three seasons. He has only won at least four races twice in seven seasons.
One driver of note that is listed is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Oddsmakers have set his win total at 1.5 for this season. Dale Jr. hasn’t won a race since 2008 and he has just three wins total since 2005. From the 2000-2004 seasons, Earnhardt Jr. produced at least two wins, but he hasn’t matched that feat since.
