Updated Daytona 500 Odds
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – The field for the 2015 Daytona 500 is now set and we have a look at the latest odds to win the race.
Following Thursday night’s Budweiser Duels, which both Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson won their respective races, the odds have been updated. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Earnhardt Jr. is now the lone favorite with 15/2 odds while Johnson has the next shortest odds at 17/2. Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth each have 10/1 odds to win. The Daytona 500 will be held this Sunday from Daytona International Speedway at 1:30PM ET.
Dale Jr. will start third with his win on Thursday. Earnhardt is a three-time Daytona winner and the defending champion of this race. His average finish at this track is 13.4 and his driver rating here is 90.3, which ranks fourth in the series.
Johnson will start second on Sunday. Johnson is a three-time Daytona winner with an average finish of 18.0 at the track. His driver rating there is 87.0, which puts him seventh.
Gordon owns the pole for the race and will start first. Gordon has six wins at this track with an average finish of 16.2 and a driver rating of 87.1, which puts him sixth amongst the field.
Kenseth will start 35th on Sunday. He has won at Daytona two times in his career. His average finish there is 17.2, while his driver rating is 91.6, which ranks second in the series.
