Busch wins Bud Shootout

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – Kyle Busch survived a wild night to pull off the slimmest margin of victory in the history of the Budweiser Shootout on Saturday night.

View Current NASCAR Odds

Busch was part of two major wrecks during Saturday’s exhibition race, but as the final laps took place, he found himself pushing Tony Stewart to the race lead, only to save one last push for himself, as he edged Stewart by a nose across the finish line to win the event for the first time in his career.

Busch entered the Shootout with 10/1 odds to win Saturday’s race. This means that a $100 wager on Busch to win will pay out an additional $1,000.

Stewart finished second to put a strong start to a 2011 season that saw him win the Sprint Cup Championship. He and Busch finished ahead of Marcos Ambrose, who came in third place.

Busch hopes that Saturday’s win will translate into a victory next Sunday in the Daytona 500, an even he has never won.
