Oddsmakers at online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have given Stewart over/under odds of 2.5 victories in 2011. In order for the wager to be official, Stewart must race in 33 races this season.

Tony Stewart finished seventh in the 2010 point standings and he had two victories on the year. Stewart has never went winless in his 12-year career.

Stewart has had at least 3 wins in 8 of his 12 full-time seasons and he has six wins since making the move to starting his own team. His average starting position has improved of the last two seasons as well as in 2009, he had an average start of 12.3 and in 2010 it was 13.2.

Last season, Stewart saw a dip in top-5 and top-10 finishes, but one would expect those numbers to go up in 2011, just based on his career numbers. Though three wins is a tough task, I feel good about Stewart’s chances this year as he 2010 was a below-average year, but I don’t think it is a sign that Smoke is finished as a real competitive driver. His style and personality are too competitive for that to already be the case.
