Updated Sprint Unlimited Odds
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – The 2015 NASCAR Season is just a few days away from its first action with the Sprint Unlimited taking place on Saturday night. Here’s an updated look at the odds to win.
The Sprint Unlimited is an exhibition race held at Daytona International Speedway. It is divided into three segments of 30 laps, 25 laps and then a 20-lap finish. A team is required to take a mandatory pit stop after the second segment. The race takes place on Saturday night at 8 p.m. on FOX.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick are the current co-favorites, as each has been given 9/1 odds to win. There are eight other drivers that currently have 12/1 odds.
Dale Jr. will be competing in this event for the 15th time on Saturday. He is a two-time winner of the Sprint Unlimited, winning in 2008 and 2003. He has struggled since the 2008 win though, finishing outside the top 5 the last six years including three finishes outside the top 10.
Harvick will be running in this event for the 11th time on Saturday. He is a three-time winner, cashing in back in 2009, 2010 and 2013. He has finished in the top 5 of the race six times, including a fifth-place finish last year.
Of the drivers with 12/1 odds, Denny Hamlin may have the best history in the race. He won in his debut in 2006 and also won last year. He has two other fifth-place finishes and has only failed to finish the race one time in his nine appearances.
