Updated NASCAR Sprint Cup Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season is going to get underway next weekend. Here is an updated look at the odds to win this year’s championship.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jimmie Johnson is the current favorite to win it all, as he has 13/2 odds to claim the Sprint Cup title. Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick have each been given 15/2 odds to win.
Johnson is a six-time Sprint Cup champion, last winning in 2013. He is one victory away from tying Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt for the most all-time. Johnson finished 11th last year, but had another strong season with four victories.
Jeff Gordon is a four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, last winning in 2001. Gordon announced that this year will be his last as a full-time driver and his last chance to claim a title. Gordon had his best year in some time in 2014, as he won four races and had 14 top 5s. He finished sixth in the standings, but was one point shy of reaching the final race for the title.
Harvick won last year’s Sprint Cup championship, the first of his career. It was also the first-time NASCAR had went with its current elimination-style Chase format. Harvick had five wins and 14 top 5s last season.
