It’s Kyle, not Kurt Busch
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – It hasn’t been a great offseason for the Busch name in NASCAR, but Kyle Busch isn’t enjoying being attached to his brother’s issues.
Kyle’s brother, Kurt, is dealing with a no-contact order from an ex-girlfriend and having a high-profile court case over the last two months. Some media outlets have mistakenly used Kyle’s name in the case and even used photos of him, as opposed to Kurt, which has the younger Busch upset.
“I think it’s stupid. I think people need to do a little bit more background before they write names or say names if they don’t know what the heck they are talking about,” Kyle told the Associated Press. “It’s not that hard to differentiate between two people that have the same last name. I think people need to do a better job and not be so slackish.”
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kyle Busch has been given 12/1 odds to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship in 2015. Jimmie Johnson is the current favorite with 5/1 odds while Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick each have 6/1 odds.
Busch finished the 2014 season in 10th place. He was able to crack the Chase for the Championship, but didn’t advance past the second elimination stage. Busch had just one win last year, which is uncommon for him. His 10th place finish in the standings was actually one of his better finishes for his career, but he was coming off a fourth-place finish in 2013, which was his career-best.
