LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) – Tim Hevly of the Seattle Mariners has won the Robert O. Fishel Award for public relations excellence, given annually by Major League Baseball.
Hevly, the Mariners’ senior director of baseball information, completed his 24th season with Seattle and 16th as the department head. Hevly began his career as an intern with the Mariners in 1990 and was hired full time two years later.
The award, announced Monday at the winter meetings, is named after the inaugural winner, who worked for the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees and the American League.
