PHOENIX (AP) -The Arizona Diamondbacks are sticking with the same roster in the NL championship series that they used in sweeping the Chicago Cubs in the first round.
Manager Bob Melvin’s roster, announced Thursday morning, again includes 11 pitchers, three catchers, seven infielders and four outfielders.
The Colorado Rockies announced their roster on Wednesday night. Manager Clint Hurdle added center fielder Willie Taveras but left off right-hander Aaron Cook. Taveras is coming back from a calf injury that sidelined him during the final three weeks of the regular season. Cook, Colorado’s opening-day starter, has been out since Aug. 10 with an oblique injury.
Hurdle said Wednesday that Cook was healthy enough to pitch but decided reluctantly against changing what has been a successful pitching mix.
