WASHINGTON (AP) -Outfielder Brandon Jones was added to the Atlanta Braves starting lineup after he was brought up from Class Triple-A Richmond on Sunday.
Braves manager Bobby Cox’s lineup card includes three Jones – Chipper Jones at third base and Andruw Jones in center field.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Atlanta is the first major league team to start three players with the same last name since the Pittsburgh Pirates started three Browns on Sept. 29, 1999. Adrian Brown played in center field, Emil Brown in left and Brant Brown at first base.
