CLEVELAND (AP) -Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire was ejected in the fifth inning of Tuesday night’s game against Cleveland for arguing with first-base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt.
After Minnesota’s Torii Hunter hit an RBI single, he was thrown out when he rounded first base and got caught off the bag. Hunter protested and was soon joined by Gardenhire, who got tossed following a heated exchange.
It was the sixth time Gardenhire has been ejected this season and the 34th time in his career.
Seconds after Gardenhire was tossed, the Twins capped a three-run inning and tied it 3-3 on Justin Morneau’s RBI single.
