CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds placed pitcher Bobby Livingston on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a torn labrum in his left shoulder and recalled right-hander Todd Coffey from Triple-A Louisville.
Livingston, scheduled to start Sunday, was 3-3 with a 5.27 ERA in 10 starts for Cincinnati this season. He will be reevaluated in about 10 days.
Coffey is 3-1 with a 6.04 ERA in a combined 48 relief appearances over three stints with the Reds this season. He was 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA in 15 relief appearances with Louisville.
Catcher David Ross also was sent to Louisville on a rehab assignment. Ross has been on the disabled list since Aug. 13 with a concussion.
