CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds optioned RHP Matt Belisle to Triple-A Louisville and recalled LHP Bill Bray from Louisville on Saturday.
The 27-year-old Belisle was 1-4 in his last 12 starts since May 29 and 6-8 overall. He allowed six hits and five runs with two walks and four strikeouts in Cincinnati’s 12-7, 11-inning loss to San Diego on Friday.
Opposing batters were hitting .308 against him.
The 24-year-old Bray was on the disabled list from March 23 to July 19 with a fractured left index finger and shoulder tendinitis. Bray, who was acquired from Washington in July 2006, was 1-2 with a 4.26 ERA in 19 innings over 18 appearances.
