The Yankees led 3-1 in the sixth when Cabrera came up with the bases loaded and one out. He hit a liner off Ryan Braun's right foot, and the pitcher frantically looked around before realizing the ball was sailing over the Yankees first-base dugout. Carbera had three hits.
Ross Gload's RBI single in the third was all Kansas City could manage against Wang (13-5), who allowed seven hits in seven-plus innings to win his third straight game. Wang is 10-1 in his last 13 starts.

Huff's three-run homer off James Shields (8-7) gave the Orioles a 3-1 lead in the fourth. It was his first homer since June 29. Three of Huff's seven homers this season have come against Tampa Bay, the team he played with from 2000-06.

Cleveland moved past Detroit into first place in the AL Central for the first time in nearly a month.
