PITTSBURGH (AP) -Pirates outfielder Xavier Nady was lifted from Tuesday’s game against St. Louis after hurting his hamstring while running the bases in the fourth inning.
Nady, who was 2-for-2 with a run scored before leaving the game, was replaced by pinch-runner Nate McLouth after he began limping while tagging up on a fly ball. Nady began the inning with his second single of the game.
Nady was bothered by a hamstring problem earlier this season, but has played in 92 of the Pirates’ 104 games.
Nady is hitting .289 with 14 homers and 58 RBIs.
