ATLANTA (AP) -The St. Louis Cardinals agreed to contract terms on Saturday with infielder Pete Kozma, the No. 18 overall pick in June’s baseball draft.
The 18-year-old Kozma hit .522 with 11 homers and 55 RBIs as a high school senior in Owasso, Okla. He will undergo a physical when he reports Tuesday to the Cardinals’ minor-league complex in Jupiter, Fla.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Once Kozma signs the deal, he’s expected to report for the rookie league short season in Johnson City, Tenn.
