SAN DIEGO (AP) -New York Mets infielder Damion Easley has been placed on the bereavement list while he spends time with his ailing father, Raymond, in Riverside, Calif.
Easley is batting .257 with eight homers and 20 RBIs in 58 games. He can spend a maximum of seven days on the bereavement list, with a minimum of three days.
To fill Easley’s roster spot, Chip Ambres was brought up from Triple-A New Orleans.
