ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -The Texas Rangers recalled right-hander Kameron Loe from Triple-A Oklahoma on Thursday to replace starter Brandon McCarthy, who went on the disabled list.
Loe was sent down last week after giving up nine runs in 2 2-3 innings in an 11-4 loss to Detroit. He is 1-6 with a 7.40 ERA in 15 appearances, including 10 starts.
McCarthy, who has a blister on his right middle finger, was sent to the 15-day DL retroactive to Sunday. The right-hander is 4-4 with a 5.90 ERA in 12 games, 11 of them starts. He has the lowest ERA is the Rangers’ rotation, but has started just once since May 25.
