SAN DIEGO (AP) -Seattle Mariners right-hander Jeff Weaver lasted only four innings in his return from the disabled list on Saturday night because of stiffness in his lower back.
Weaver was listed as day-to-day.
He’d been placed on the DL for the first time in his career on May 11 because of to shoulder tendinitis.
Weaver, who came into the game with an 0-6 record, allowed two runs and did manage to lower his ERA from 14.32 to 12.46.
Weaver beat San Diego in Game 2 of the division series last year while with St. Louis.
