ST. LOUIS (AP) -Los Angeles Angels first baseman Casey Kotchman left the game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday night because of a right elbow contusion.
Kotchman was hit by a Braden Looper pitch with two outs in the sixth inning and stayed in the game after he was checked by a trainer. He did not take the field when the Cardinals came to bat in the bottom of the inning. X-rays were negative and his status is listed as day-to-day.
He was the second Angels player to leave the game. Outfielder Garret Anderson left the game during the fifth inning because of tightness in his right leg.
Robb Quinlan took over for Kotchman.
Kotchman is batting .335 after going 1-2 with a walk and two runs scored on Saturday.
