CHICAGO (AP) -Florida Marlins pitcher Sergio Mitre left Wednesday’s game against the Chicago Cubs with a cramp in his right hamstring.
The Marlins were leading 3-0 when Cubs starter Ted Lilly hit Aaron Boone leading off the inning. Mitre then laid down a bunt, and Lilly bobbled the ball before rushing the throw toward first. The throw appeared to hit Mitre.
Wes Obermueller came in to run for Mitre, who allowed three hits while striking out seven and walking one in four innings. Boone, who reached third on the error, scored on Dan Uggla’s sacrifice fly.
