CLEVELAND (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds activated right-hander Aaron Harang from the bereavement list Sunday to start against the Cleveland Indians and optioned infielder Jeff Keppinger to Triple-A Louisville.
After the Reds completed a three-game series in San Diego with a 3-2 loss Wednesday night, Harang remained in San Diego to be with his ailing grandfather. He returned to the team Saturday night.
Keppinger has batted .250 (2-for-8) in three games with the Reds this season.
The Reds also sent left-hander Bill Bray to Sarasota of the Class A Florida State League on an injury rehabilitation assignment. Bray has been on the disabled list since April 1 with a hairline fracture at the tip of his left index finger.
