Rockies trim deficit to a half-game

Colorado now trails the Los Angeles Dodgers by a half-game in the NL West standings following Tuesday night's 10-3 home win over Philadelphia. Charlie Blackmon was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI to help lead the offense from the leadoff spot. D.J. LeMahieu finished 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. David Dahl went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs. Nolan Arenado ended the contest 2-for-5 with an RBI. Ian Desmond went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs. Chris Iannetta was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs. Carlos Gonzalez finished 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs off the bench. D.J. Johnson retired one batter and walked one to earn the win in relief.

Herrera, Kingery have two-hit nights

Odubel Herrera finished 2-for-3 with an RBI in last night's loss at Colorado. Rhys Hoskins was 1-for-3 with a double and two walks. Scott Kingery ended the game 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI. Roman Quinn added two hits in four at-bats. Vince Velasquez gave up six earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and two walks over  3 2/3 innings to get saddled with the loss.

MLB Betting Trends

The Phillies are 7-22 in their last 29 road games. Philadelphia is 9-23 in its last 32 games on grass.

The Rockies are 28-11 in their last 39 home games. The under is 9-2 in the last 11 Marquez starts overall.

Philadelphia has packed it in. I haven't seen any fight out of the Phils for a month. Marquez is coming into his own as a very good MLB pitcher and should shut down Philadelphia today. The Rockies on the runline, the under due largely to Marquez or Colorado on the moneyline. Take your pick. I'm taking the runline bet.
