MLB Betting Trends
St. Louis
The Cardinals are 7-2 in the last nine Hudson Saturday starts. St. Louis is 5-2 in its last seven road games.
Chicago
The Cubs are 11-3 in the last 14 Quintana starts. St. Louis is 4-1 in the last five meetings.
Prediction:
The Cardinals have silenced the Cubs and their fans the first two games of the series, taking what was a dominant home team much of the season and turning them into not only an afterthought in the NL Central race but also a third-place team overall that is fighting for its playoff lives. While the Cubs basically need a win here to feel good about its Wild Card chances, St. Louis would like nothing more than to add more disappointment to its rivals in front of the Cubs’ home fans. Hudson has had a competent season and with the Cardinals playing the better baseball overall right now, it isn’t farfetched that this is the series where Chicago’s playoff chances went into longshot territory.
