Eaton, Rendon lead Nats to win

Adam Eaton finished 1-for-4 with a double, two walks, a run and two RBIs in a 7-1 win Saturday at the Braves. Trea Turner was 1-for-5 with a walk and a run. Bryce Harper was 0-for-2 with three walks and a run. Anthony Rendon finished 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs. Juan Soto ended the contest 1-for-2 with three walks, three stolen bases, two runs and an RBI. Wilmer Difo ended the game 0-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base and a run. Spencer Kieboom finished 0-for-2 with two walks and a run. Jefry Rodriguez threw 4 2/3 shutout innings of relief to earn the win, striking out one and walking three.

Braves held to two hits

Ronald Acuna Jr. was 1-for-4 and scored the lone run in yesterday's loss for Atlanta. Freddie Freeman was 0-for-3 with an RBI sacrifice fly. Kurt Suzuki had the other hit as he was 1-for-3. Julio Teheran took the loss as he surrendered two earned runs on three hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking six. Braves pitchers walked 14 batters over nine innings.

Tanner Roark 8-15, 4.37 ERA) will start today for the Nationals, while the Braves counter with Sean Newcomb (12-8, 3.82).

MLB Betting Trends

The Nationals are 6-2 in their last eight games. The under is 39-19-1 in the last 59 Washington road games.

The Braves are 6-2 in their last eight home games versus the Nationals. Atlanta is 2-6 in Newcomb's last eight home starts.

Roark seemingly had turned a corner, but has now fallen back on hard times with the Nats playing out the string this season. As for Newcomb, he had taken a step forward this season yet has struggled with inconsistency and had worn down the last couple months. I think both offenses take advantage of shaky starting pitcher as well as the bullpens.
