Davis breaks tie with HR

Khris Davis hit a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 10th inning last night as Oakland downed host Tampa Bay by a count of 2-1. He finished 1-for-3 with the homer plus a walk. Matt Chapman was 1-for-4 with a double and a run, while Matt Olson finished 1-for-4 with an RBI single. Blake Treinen threw two perfect innings to pick up the win in relief as his ERA dropped to 0.85.

Smith has two hits in loss

Mallex Smith finished 2-for-5 for Tampa Bay from the leadoff spot in last night's defeat. Matt Duffy went 1-for-4 plus a walk, while Tommy Pham went 1-for-4 with a double and a run. Joey Wendle was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Jaime Schultz took the loss as he gave up one earned run on one hit in an inning of relief.

Liam Hendriks (0-1, 5.94) will start today for Oakland, while Ryne Stanek (2-3, 2.58) gets the nod for Tampa Bay.

MLB Betting Trends

The Athletics are 11-2 in their last 13 Saturday games. The under is 7-2-2 in the last 11 Oakland games on Saturdays.

Tampa Bay

The Rays are 20-7 in their last 27 games overall. Tampa Bay is 38-14 in its last 52 home games.

There will be a lot of pitchers in this game as neither starter is expected to go long. With the A's bullpen in better shape after using fewer pitchers Friday night, I like their chances again today backed by an offense that should put up more runs than in yesterday's win.
